Joanna Dolgoff, M.D., is a Pediatrician, Child Obesity Specialist, the Official Pediatrician and Child Obesity Specialist for NBC’s THE BIGGEST LOSER, member of the Pediatric Task Force for the American Board of Obesity Medicine, creator of the child and adolescent weight loss program Red Light, Green Light, Eat Right and author of Red Light, Green Light, Eat Right (Rodale).
Dr. Dolgoff and Red Light, Green Light, Eat Right have been featured on The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show, Fox & Friends, Nightline, CNN, MSNBC, 700 Club, Extra, Lifetime, Discovery Health, America’s Newsroom, Inside Edition, The Daily Buzz and most major news outlets. She has been written about in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Seattle Times, The Los Angeles Times, Vogue, Redbook, Parent Magazine, Parenting, and Shape. She is the Medical Director of Camp Shane, the nation’s longest-running weight loss camp and a blogger for the Huffington Post. Children and teens from 46 states and 4 countries have lost weight with her online weight loss program. Dr. Dolgoff has offices throughout Long Island, Manhattan and Queens, N.Y.
Dr. Dolgoff grew up in Roslyn, New York and attended Princeton University where she graduated cum laude with a degree in Molecular Biology and was elected to the Sigma Chi International Research Honor Society. Dr. Dolgoff continued her education at the NYU School of Medicine, earning the award for Outstanding Student in Pediatrics and serving as president of the NYU Chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. Dr. Dolgoff completed her Pediatric Residency training at Columbia Presbyterian’s Children’s Hospital of New York. Prior to developing Red Light, Green Light, Eat Right, Dr. Dolgoff worked as a private practice pediatrician. She is a Board Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a proud member of Allied Pediatrics of New York.
Dr. Dolgoff enjoys Yoga, running, biking and reading. Most important, she is the proud mother of two children, Zachary, age 10, and Danielle, age 7. She and her husband live in her hometown of Roslyn, New York.
